Harjinder is a serial entrepreneur in the healthcare technology space and has stood at the forefront of innovations in speech recognition and machine learning for more than 20 years. Earlier in his career, Harjinder co-founded MedRemote, a healthcare-focused speech recognition company acquired in 2005 by Nuance. He then served for five years as Vice President and Chief Technologist of Nuance’s Healthcare R&D division. He also co-founded the patient engagement company, Twistle, and remains on its Board of Directors. Harjinder holds a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from the University of Toronto and a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia. He is a former Assistant Professor of Computer Science at York University and Visiting Scientist at IBM.
Dr. Hughes has more than 25 years’ experience defining and delivering innovative healthcare technology solutions that address the unmet needs of clinical users. He possesses deep expertise in knowledge representation, clinical decision support, data exchange and electronic medical records. He was recently CEO of Sutherland Healthcare Solutions, a business process transformation company. He previously served in senior executive roles at IDX, GE Healthcare and SAS, and has worked closely with luminary organizations such as Mayo Clinic, Intermountain Healthcare and Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Hughes gained a medical degree as well as an undergraduate degree in neurobiology and neurosciences from King’s College London, University of London. He began his career as a practicing internal medicine specialist.
Ryan has been a health information technology sales and business development executive for 25 years, leading cross-functional teams, developing go-to-market strategies and consistently achieving double-digit growth year over year. He has sold to organizations of all sizes, including Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Mass General and University of Colorado. Prior to Saykara, Ryan spent 10 years with Medstreaming, a leading cardiovascular IT solutions vendor, where he served as VP Sales and Business Development. Earlier in his career, he was a top-ranked sales professional with Philips, Zonare Medical Systems (now Mindray Medical) and Eastman Kodak Health Imaging. Ryan has won myriad awards, including President’s Club and Sales Producer of the Year. He graduated with honors from St. Cloud State University.
Amarjit has been building and leading software engineering and product teams for more than 20 years, both within innovative startups and large established companies. Prior to Saykara, Amarjit was a management consultant with Stone-Bridge Consulting, tackling complex technology transformation challenges. Earlier in her career, she worked for patient engagement company, Twistle; telehealth physical therapy company, IKKOS; healthcare speech recognition company, MedRemote; and telecommunications company, Nortel. She has also served as an advisor to the Technology Partner Network of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Amarjit has a master’s degree (M.Ed.) in Technology and Innovation in Education from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University.
Joy is a seasoned strategist and business leader with an extensive background in healthcare. She has spent the past 20 years driving the commercialization of multiple technology solutions, including outcomes data management, predictive analytics, care pathways, scheduling, evidence-based guidelines and electronic health records. Joy has served in executive marketing, product management, sales and business development roles with several health tech startups, all facing significant growth and expansion objectives. She has worked with provider organizations around the globe and has cultivated partnerships with medical associations, device manufacturers, software vendors, pharmaceutical companies, health plans/payers and self-funded employers. Joy graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in business management.
Jaskaran has been spearheading the productization of cutting-edge technologies for more than 10 years. He has worked for Seattle and Bay Area companies in the medical device development and health tech product design fields, including Theranova and Lunar Design. As Saykara’s first team member, Jaskaran has been instrumental in helping define and design the company’s AI-powered assistant, Kara. He has significant experience in agile methodologies and expertise with user interfaces, storyboarding, concept development and rapid prototyping. Jaskaran holds a master of science degree in bioengineering and a certificate in management of technology from University of California, Berkeley. He also holds a bachelor of science degree in bioengineering from Rice University.
